Thor is a dog of many firsts for us at HighGard. From our first AKC Champion, first Owner Handled group placements, Owner Handled Best in Show & Reserve Best in Show, first regular Hound Group placements.  Thor was awarded Select Dog at the 2021 Basenji National Specialty under Hound Expert Michael Canalizo!

Thor has a daughter who finished her championship very easily. His daughter was also RWB at the 2022 Basenji National Specialty. He also has a son that placed 4th out of a large 9-12month puppy class at the 2022 National Specialty. 

Thor is now retired from showing but is still available for stud. 

Rush is from our Fall 2023 litter with Kara & Iko. His first weekend out in the 4–6-month puppy class, he was Best In Show Puppy. The judge had some very lovely comments about him as he had seen a lot of Basenji's when judging lure coursing, he said "Now this puppy has a front!"  

Rush finished his AKC Championship in November 2024. He has been awarded Best Of Breed from the Bred-By class multiple times over top ranked specials. His first time out as a Special, he was awarded Best of Breed over a Top 5 special for a 5pt Grand Major and a champion defeat towards his Grand Championship. 

2025 has been a whirlwind of excitement with this boy! His is now a Multiple Best in Specialty Show winner and Multiple Group Placing winner! In the month of July he was the #5 Basenji Breed and #8 All Breed Basenji! He also went on to win Owner Handled Best in Show and Reserve Owner Handled Best in Show.

A TOP 10 Basenji Breed *Sep2025

Fenrir finished his AKC Championship rather easily.  His first weekend out as a special, he was awarded Best of Breed 4/5 times in the show circuit. At the shows following the 2021 National Specialty, Fenrir was awarded Select Dog for the final points to finish his AKC Grand Championship.  Picture here handled by beloved mentor and friend Ronald Bigford. 

Fenrir has produced 4 litters. Once litter has pups that are major pointed and with others hitting the show ring soon! 

Fenrir now lives happily in retirement with my mother. 

Ad'ika is a young up and coming male. His is Thor's son. At only 9months of age, Ad'ika was awarded Best of Breed from the classes over multiple specials for a 4pt major towards his AKC Championship. At the 2022 National Specialty his was awarded 4th place in a large 9-12month puppy class while his sister went RWB! 

Ad'ika only needs a major to finish his AKC Championship.

Ad'ika has been neutered and placed in a loving home in Iowa!
